The Time Trial T-Shirts will be re-printed with the addition of all of the qualifiers names and can be picked up at our Seahawks End-of-the-Year Party at Roller Towne on Wednesday, July 23rd.  Please bring your original Time Trial shirt or be able to tell us the size you ordered

Saturday, July 19, 2008. Seahawks warm up from 7:00 – 7:15 am.  Meet starts at 9:00 am.

TIME TRIALS MEETING

There will be a parent/guardian meeting regarding Time Trials (7/19/08) to be held at 5:00 PM, Monday, July 14, 2008 at the Golden West pool. Your attendance is greatly appreciated.

TEAM PICTURES

If you have not picked up your team pictures, please arrange to do so at practice as soon as possible. Susan Feder will have them at the pool for the reminder of the week. Afterwards they will only be available at our awards dinner on July 23, 2008.

SWIM SUITS - The last order of swim suits has arrived. If you ordered a suit and still have not received it, please pick them as soon as possible, at practice or the meets.

TIME TRIALS - There will be a meeting at practice this evening, Monday, July 07, 2008, at 5:00 pm, to review needs and requirements for the CVRSL Time Trials that we will be hosting on Saturday, July 19, 2008.  We will need a lot of cooperation from all families in order to make this event a success. We will be hosting Finals next year so this will be a good warm up for next year as well.  Once again, we will need volunteers to help out in many areas and it is our responsibility, as a team, to ensure that everything goes well. Thank you.

SWIM SUITS
Swim suits have arrived. We will distribute them at practice all this week as well as our Team Time Trials. If you have not paid for your suits, you will be required to do so before your suit will be issued to you.

 SWIM LESSONS
Katelyn Hammer, who had coached the Seahawks for the past four years, is offering private swim lessons. Please contact Katelyn at 909-2497 for additional information.

SWIM SUITS 

The swim suits were shipped from the factory last week and are scheduled to arrive the week of June 2, 2008, in time for our team pictures on Monday, June 9, 2008. 

TEAM PICTURES 

Team pictures will be taken on Monday, June 9, 2008 during practice. We will maintain the same practice time schedule, with the young swimmers taking their pictures during the first hour of practice and the older swimmers taking their pictures in the second half of practice. We will take a team picture at the mid point of our practice while everyone is at the pool. Please be sure to wear your Seahawk swim suit.  Thank you to Elva Fulton for volunteering to coordinate this project. Elva will be available at practice the week of June 2, 2008 to distribute flyers with prices and packages available.  If you have any questions, pleas contact Elva at 733-3714 

TEAM APPAREL 

Thank you to Debbie Mullowney, Maria Flugel, and Julie Heath      for coordinating the team apparel project. They will be taking orders at practice during the week of June 2, 2008 in order to get your apparel to you before our first swim meet on June 10, 2008.  A second round of orders will be taken during the second week of practice with additional items available at that time.  Visit our website, www.visaliaseahawks.com, and click on the staff link and then the board link for phone numbers for Debbie, Maria, and Julie if you have any questions. 

TEAM TIME TRIALS 

We will be conduction or team time trials on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 9:00 am at the Golden West Pool. We would like to start the time trials on time, so pleas be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the meet.  Since the meet will run a couple of hours, we suggest that you bring pop ups or umbrellas for shade, water, snacks, chairs, and maybe some games to keep the young ones occupied when they are not swimming. Please be patient as this is a test meet and it takes time to make sure everyone is comfortable in their volunteer roles. 

TEAM HANDBOOKS 

Team handbooks have been turned into the city for printing and should be available for distribution at our team time trials on June 7, 2008. 

HELP WANTED 

We are still in need for someone to coordinate the concessions for our home meets.  Concessions are one of our bigger fund raisers which go to purchase awards for the swimmers at the end of the year.  Ellen Dahlenburg who has coordinated concessions since 2003 is willing to assist with the learning curve and how the program has worked over the years.  A team effort, such as what is being done with team apparel, is strongly advised.  Please don’t let the Seahawks be the only team in the CVRSL to go without concessions.

LINE UP AND TIMERS 

Our Head Line Up and Timer facilitators will be soliciting your assistance in the areas of Line Up and Timers during the week of June 2, 2008 to prepare for our first home meet on June 10, 2008. The team time trials held on June 7, 2008 will be an opportunity for you to explore and experience these different roles.  Don’t be shy. These are both fun ways of being involved with the team, at the meets, and with your children. 

COMPUTER HELP 

We could use the assistance two more individuals to assist with the computers at our home meets. The only real experience that you need is 10 key. If you want to sit in the shade, have our hospitality crew wait on you with food and beverage during the meet, then this is the job for you. Please contact Brendan Feder (733-4281) if you would like to volunteer for this role. 

SWIM CAPS 

Both latex ($7) and silicone ($13) swim caps are available at all practices. Please see Brendan Feder to purchase you cap.

POSITIONS STILL AVAILABLE
Thank you to those that have volunteered to facilitate several of the roles/needs that we had at the beginning of the season. 

We are still looking for assistance with the following openings:
Team Apparel (One time event)
Concessions (Four meets)
Team Pictures (One time event)

 The team apparel and concessions are a major fund raiser for our team, therefore is critical to the continued success of our team. Please contact Brendan Feder if you are interested in assisting in any of these areas for the 2008 season. Those individuals who coordinated these events in the years past are very willing to assist you with these functions. 

TEAM HANDBOOKS

Team handbooks should be available the first week of June. We are to submit our book to the city this week for publication but before we do so, we would like to have the above openings filled so that Board of Directors/Facilitators directory will be complete and accurate.

NEWS FLASH-THIS JUST IN.

The City just contacted us and informed us that they overbooked the pool for this evening. The Buc’s are holding their end of the year party at the pool later in the evening; when we were suppose to swim. Therefore, practice has been changed to 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at Golden West. Please note, this is a one (1) hour practice.
